A voice like poured honey rang out into the silence.
"Dark Link, old boy, how wonderful to see you again!" Link flinched; the tall figure ignored him entirely, but brushed past him to clap the shadow affectionately on the shoulder. "Why, you old villain, you haven't aged a day..."
"Carock," Dark said softly, puzzled, suspicious.
Farore's Wind! thought Link. Carock--the Wizzrobe prince--the sorceror who laid the curse on Zelda Second! This was ancient history brought to life!
. . . . . . . .
The man before him did indeed carry a staff set with a red gem, but he did not look ancient. Nor did he wear rags: in fact it was quite the opposite, for his finery would have made Harper the castle bard look stylishly underdressed.
ELOZE ~ Shadow's Mastery ~ Chapter 80
"...for his finery would have made Harper the castle bard look stylishly underdressed."
That's probably one of my most favorite sentences in Shadow's Mastery. XD
Now Tara is going to laugh at me.
I thought I'd give you guys a taste of Carock, for those who haven't read ELOZE. :3 I skipped a paragraph or two which is why there's a bunch of dots in the excerpt, in case you didn't know. :'D
Carock is one of my favorite villains of all time.
I kept the correct colors without referring to the fic! XD It's sad how I remember these things.
There are a few stories that deal with this. If you don't want to read, then scroll till it says I'm done story-telling.
Now, this is obviously a traditional piece. The markers became dangerous missiles. XD You have to lay some color down, and then hurry to get what you want out of it because markers dry very quickly.
So. My markers are in the non-drawing hand. I laid down the green, shoved it back in its cap, and pulled out the blue but I lost my grip AND IT WENT FLYING ACROSS THE PAPER. And it fell on it. But it landed on the side that WASN'T OPEN. So no damage was done. But the same thing happened again with other markers. XD And then it happened with the nib I was using to put the gold paint on. And the nib didn't leave any gold traces either. It was a miracle, I swear. Okay I'm done.
Sadly my bed didn't make it out so well. I draw and color on my bed, even though I have a desk. But I've often told you my desk and room is like Harper's. But Harper uses his desk.
Anyways, I was trying to get the gold paint to flow because it had hardened over the top. When I broke the hard part, I squeezed to get some out, but I squeezed harder than I thought I did. Poor bed. XDD
The picture took about twelve hours. The sketch itself took about seven.
So Carock should appreciate this rendition of himself. It should meet his requirements. Come on. His tunic literally sparkles.
TOOLS Tombow markers Colorless blender Colored pencils Silver gel pen Calligraphy pen nib Gold paint, with the sheen of "precious metals"
TAKEN WITH DIGITAL CAMERA So it's not at best quality, though I tried to fix it. XD
The coloring and detail on his outfit look very impressive

Very impressive pic! The shading on his leggings and the details on his tunic are my favorite parts. That and the positively SMUG expression he has. 'Tis a job well done~
And you were very lucky that it didn't get smudged up so many times. Must've been divine intervention to make sure this pic wasn't harmed. *laugh*

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
